Sarah Paxson, Teacher at Yogawerks, RYT 200
I first came to yoga in 2004. After playing soccer and basketball since I could walk I needed a physical practice to connect with. I immediately found that connection on the mat. I also found a peace and stillness inside myself that I never had access to before. I had found a way to just sit and be. Yoga has given me permission to be ok with me wherever I may be at in the moment, in other words an I learned how to accept myself. After not knowing self-acceptance for many years I realized how valuable this gift is and it is only one of the many gifts of yoga! In 2008 I completed my teacher training with Blue Sun Yoga and have been teaching since. I am inspired to learn as much as I can about yoga and to continue to share my experiences with my students. I am passionate about Acroyoga and Anusara yoga and continue to further my education in both areas. My favorite pose changes all the time but I am particularly fond of the energizing, uplifting, and open qualities of back bending.

Alexandra Matt, Teacher at Yogawerks, RYT 200
I started practicing Yoga when I moved to the US a couple of years ago. Having grown up in Austria, a country where skiing and hiking are the focus as far as physical activities, I was used to spending a lot of time outdoors. This was a daily routine for me so I never thought that I would spend so much time in a studio doing yoga. Racing downhill  on skis at a professional level for over 10 years actually made it difficult for me to perform some of the stretching poses. There was no way I could reach the floor with my hands in a forward bend! I am still challenged by some of the poses but after trying all different kinds of yoga classes I recognized that my body really appreciated all the poses and I felt more and more comfortable and wanted to reach new levels of expertise. That is why I signed up for  a10-month Anusara - immersion training with Chad Satlow. Afterwards I continued with a teacher training in Arizona with Martin and Jordan Kirk and I also took part in Workshops with Desiree Rumbaugh, Betsey Downing and Noah Maze. Coming from a background as a Montessori teacher and family therapist, I just loved the idea of teaching Yoga to children and adolescents. To see the children doing yoga with so much fun and enthusiasm is the most satisfying part of being a Yoga teacher.

The best part of my Yoga-experience so far is that I have found friends who join me on my way.
